a lovely sunny day celebrating nor' hens party

leaving indo was difficult for numerous reasons; the weather, seb, not seeing more of the islands, the sun ,the sea, the food etc etc etc
arriving in south africa was a tad trying too as from the minute i landed, the heavens opened. one can take that positively and for the first few days i did however, when it rained for almost seven days solid, i turned quite sour. i can't say that that lasted for too long either as my days were spent entertaining my icelandic friends, nanna and dori, namely at olympia cafe (mmm-heaven on a plate) , watching the whales in false bay and jolling with the family.

at least, spring had embraced durban... and in a big way! leaving cape town with temperatures in the teens and arriving to 30's was quite a HUGE change...a nice one at that.
durbs was filled to the brim with organising (nor and mikes wedding - event of the year), hanging out with friends (the gibb family, leanne and kloof crew as a whole) and just enjoying days being back at home.

the hens party was mighty eventful - spent the day being pampered and learning some "interesting" and perhaps compromising positions (more on facebook). the wedding was more civil (well, on the girls side anyway. ud had mike and nor do some raunchy things at the wedding with kitchen utensils) yet extremely festive with the dance floor being constantly full and vocal cords pushed to the limit with all the singing along.
as per usual, norah looked absolutely beautiful and mike as handsome as can be. brett florens was the photographer and seems to have taken some goodies.

so whilst the cape province freezes to death, i'm eating out at my favourite cape restaurants in and around cape town, the newly married couple are lazing in the maldives, simone is almost in labor to their little - or rather heavy 4 kg - daughter and seb is enjoying the last few days on the gili islands.

sad i am not as i know that in febuary i will be seeing all these wonderful people and places again. slaapstad (an endearing term for cape town ; slaap = sleep, stad = city/ town) here we come! all visitors welcome...
