Namaste

mango shake = the best

************************************************
my turn; i don't really know where to begin. for the last seven days i have felt as though i have been in a dream...and at times, a nightmare.
bombay was quite something. it was constant chaos if not with the taxis hooting their horns off, it was due to the people selling enormous inflatable things that could not even fit in a combi (why would two backpackers be interested? i ask myself the same thing)! thank ganesh, we only spent a day there.
then! what was sold as a "delux bus with aircon" for our grewling 21 hour trip to udaipur turned out to resemble something of a guatemalan chicken bus (for those of you who aren't familiar with one, use your imagination - you won't be far off) ... that was the nightmare part, if you haven't guessed it already.
here i thank ganesh, really really (as the folk here say), for our relatively safe arrival in udaipur.
perhaps it could even be considered as a blessing?
a truly beautiful town where one does not feel alienated, being a tourist, the people are really friendly and one just has to love the breeze, especially on one of the many rooftop cafes!
we met krishna (wheeler and dealer, which we discovered only at the end) who showed us around the area. it was surreal and no words will be able to describe the landscapes and images we endulged in.
i'll just let you smooze the photos and ask me for more info, if need be.

london encounters

Departure times: goodbyes @ the airport

Facts:
- Sebs backpack weight = 13,7 kg
- Karis = 11,3 kg
- Easy jet queue progression speed = 1 meter/hour

***********************************

Thanks to Tina who fetched us from the airport, we managed our first stop in London safely.
Andrew cooked us a brilliant pasta/veggie dinner. Good home cooking that we will miss for sure.

Spent the next day giving Karis some more shots of hepB and walking around london.
Met the african surfer crew + Pippa the business lady + Cara for a typical english pub lunch - mmm starch ;)

at last, we met the lovely lila may (the new addition to the faye-durty curt family)

Finally, a nice group photo with our londonians..

We met at Rendez vous des amis, the same bar we met Stone and his friends 3 years ago for drinks (here). We spent the afternoon sipping red wine, talking statistics and ideas for our future trip.
We also met Caroline, their long time traveler host in Paris.

(on the right, lurks...that is what happens when you switch from beer to red wine...)
From there, we moved on to one of our favourite spot in Paris, the canal, to finally end up in Le Cambodge and devour the best Bobun ever.

Portugal mojo for Mr Stone: Lisboa = surf + teuf + meuf...

During the night, i suddenly realized that the trip had started, that we were in Paris, talking to our friends from far, far away and many other people about everything and nothing, not worrying about friday morning wake up and just enjoying every moment as if it was our last. I am very stoked that this occured there, at the canal, that is already filled with so many souvenirs (last 4 birthday parties..)

Now sitting at home, waking up slowly, thinking of our fellows African Surfer on their way to London in this rainy morning. Good luck to them. It was nice sharing a bit of their time in Paris. Go well.
